Following an early breakfast, prepare for an unforgettable encounter with the mountain gorillas. Gorilla tracking times are unpredictable and can last from 2 to 5 hours or more. Be ready for a challenging hike through steep, muddy terrain, sometimes in rain, before you find the gorillas. A briefing will be provided on how to respectfully interact with these gentle giants. The excitement of seeing the gorillas makes it all worthwhile! Overnight at Ingagi Park View Lodge.

Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Travel to Uganda’s second largest park, located near the majestic Rwenzori Mountain Ranges and between Lake Edward and Lake George. The park is home to abundant wildlife, including gazelles, Uganda kobs, warthogs, waterbucks, lions, crocodiles, hippos, elephants, and possibly leopards. Enjoy an evening game drive. Overnight at Elephant Hab or Buffalo Lodge.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Trip

Start before sunrise with a game drive to spot animals such as elephants, buffaloes, striped jackals, hyenas, leopards, lions, warthogs, Uganda kobs, and giant forest hogs as they return to their hiding spots. In the afternoon, take a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel to see hippos and a variety of animals coming to drink or bathe, such as waterbucks, buffalos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous bird species. Overnight at Elephant Hab or Buffalo Lodge.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking at Kyambura or Kalinzu Forest & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

In the morning, go chimpanzee trekking in the forest, which is also home to baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, bush babies, and many bird species. After trekking, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, known as the ‘Place of Little Birds.’ This lake near the Rwanda border is one of the most beautiful in western Uganda, the second deepest in Africa, and safe for swimming (bilharzia-free).
