About Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Southwestern Uganda, protecting one of Africa's most ancient rainforests and roughly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. Trekking here takes you through mist-shrouded valleys and dense forest to spend a magical hour with a habituated gorilla family. The park's four trailhead sectors โ€” Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo โ€” each offer a different character of trek, and the surrounding communities offer rich Batwa cultural experiences.
